anything about it. well the same could be said about tax reform. everybody talks about it but no one does anything about it and for good reason. virtually every proposal put on the table gets just sliced to pieces by those who claim they want reform but it truly want only to protect their own tax status. congressman dave camp 067 michigan presented this tax reform proposal this week that immediately had some conservatives and some liberals all aflitter with criticism. the chairman's plan would simplify the tax code and make it so that 95% of passenger pairs would be able to do a short term tax form. it would lower rates but in exchange it would end some current deductions. most conservatives like to lower rates wu not ending the deductions. some have even condemned the plan for not having spending cuts. but let's be fair, the ways and means kmee that congressman camp chairs doesn't handle spending. the appropriations committee does that. his committee's responsibility isn't how to decide how to spend the money, just figure out how to get the money that we spend. personally i still prefer

dave camp, the head of ways and means committee has done this week proposing tax reform to simplify the tax code, reduce rates, reduce the corporate rate from 35 to 25% is really the sort of thing we need to do to energize the participants in the u.s. economy. right now they're sitting on their hands. there is over a trillion, maybe $3 trillion in corporate assets not being deployed. there are $2 trillion in corporate assets parked overseas because they don't want to be taxed. the camp plan would cause most of that to come back to the united states and be deployed here. that is the sort of thing we should be doing. jenna: he announced his plan, if you will in the "wall street journal" yesterday in an article. i believe he will be speaking to neil cavuto later today. it will be interesting to hear from him. what do you think the prospects are? we heard tax reform before. what do you think really are the chances what he does actually turns into some change, real change? >> i think because of president obama's attitude towards taxes, there is very little prospect. you need a president

be compromised here? >> i do not see anything. it is $1 trillion more in taxes, increasing spending dramatically, not adhering to the compromise budget deal president obama signed a few months ago. that has been a problem. we do the budget control act, and then people weasel out of that. they do a compromise, and the first piece of legislation violates that. of course, this president is doing nothing to address the two thirds of the budget, the transfer payments, entitlement programs, that are on an unsustainable path. i do see a lot we can compromise on here. i happen to like the budget, but it is, relatively speaking, a non-event. there was a key agreement struck two months ago by the house represented by paul ryan, the senate represented by patty murray, in terms of discretionary spending and the key items within the discretionary account. second of all, this is a congressional election a year, obviously. i do not think this budget, which i happen to like, is going anywhere. >> what do you like about it? >> the deficit is going down considerably. >> is that from fiscal reform or from the econ
